People's Palace

Today we ventured on to a city bus to the People's Palace.

According to wickipedia:
The East End of Glasgow was one of the most unhealthy and overcrowded parts of the city, and the People's Palace was intended to provide a cultural centre for the people. Lord Rosebery continued: "A palace of pleasure and imagination around which the people may place their affections and which may give them a home on which their memory may rest". He declared the building "Open to the people for ever and ever".


Today, it holds an interesting museum on Scottish history post 1900 as well as an indoor winter garden.

 Why one boot? Apparently these belong to Elton John however, the matching boot was loaned out to another museum. I kid you NOT!

and on the way home, we passed by Glasgow's oldest chip shop!
